This particular project was brought in to us by owner Bill Bleasby. Bill asked us to install a full floor pan in the car, and used full drivers side quarter panel.

The work to the car has been quite extensive. The car was disassembled, and placed on a rotisserie, so that that all the panels where easily accessible. The work started with the removal of the old floor pans and toe boards. The frame rails had been previously repaired, and needed little attention same with the transmission tunnel floor brace. The inner rockers needed a bit of work, so these were fixed. The rear wheel houses were in great shape, but the rear spring mount on the drivers side needed repair, and was taken care of.

The toe boards were fitted and welded into place, and the full floor pan supplied by Golden Leaf (Dynacorn in the US) was fitted. The full floor pan fit in the car quite nicely, and needed only some additional floor pieces to meet the rear wheelhouses.

With the floor pan installed, we could now lower the car using the rotisserie and set it on stands to keep it level and firm. The next step was the removal of the drivers side quarter panel, and replace it with an original one of a 67 Cougar. The panel was supplied by West Cost Classic Cougars, as an aftermarket one is not currently available. The new-used panel was disassembled from its bracing, and wheelhouse and was taken to be stripped to bare metal. When we recieved the panel we realized that it was cut from the car just shy of the roof weld line, so stepping of the old quater panel along the roof was needed to offer a firm seam that would not warp when heat from the welder was applied to the thin metal.

We have test fit the wheel house, and quarter panel, and it is ready to be installed.
